Net Control Script - Revision 13 - 02/17/2008

{About five minutes prior to scheduled start time}: This is {CALL SIGN, NAME}, Net Control station for the Alameda Disaster Preparedness Net which will be held on this frequency in five minutes.

{Prior to beginning the net, also check the simplex frequencies 148.505 and 148.535, to determine if in use. If appropriate and feasible, possibly let operators know about the net. You may inform them that the simplex portion of the net does not occur until about fifteen minutes or more after the hour.}

{At 7:00 pm:}

QST, QST, QST. This is {CALL SIGN, NAME}, Net Control station for the Alameda Disaster Preparedness Net. The primary purpose of this net is to organize and coordinate volunteer emergency and disaster communications in the City of Alameda.

Although this net is based in Alameda, all amateurs on frequency are welcome and encouraged to check in and participate. This net meets weekly at 19:00 hours, Thursdays on 146.880 MHz, PL 77, on the WB6NDJ repeater, courtesy of the Oakland Radio Communication Association.

This is a directed net. Net Control will request initial check in by full call sign stated phonetically in groups of 4 stations. After Net Control acknowledges you, please identify your station by repeating your call sign, stated phonetically, followed by your name and your city of residence.

For stations with routine traffic, please advise Net Control when checking in or by entering the net with your call sign suffix. Routine traffic will be passed after all stations have checked in. To interrupt the net, use "break" for priority traffic, or "break-break" for emergency traffic. Use "contact" if you wish to call a station that has checked into the net. Otherwise, all stations please standby unless called upon by net control.

First, is there any emergency or priority traffic for the net?

Next, are there any stations located at a hospital, fire station, or emergency service location, please check in at this time.

Mobile or pedestrian stations check-in at this time, 4 at a time, please. {Repeat until no stations heard}

All stations with call sign suffixes Alpha through Hotel please check in now, 4 at a time please. {Repeat until no stations heard}

All stations with call sign suffixes Alpha through Papa please check in now, 4 at a time please. {Repeat until no stations heard}

All stations with call sign suffixes Alpha through Zulu please check in now, 4 at a time please. {Repeat until no stations heard}

{Handle stations with traffic, QSTs and recognize contacts. Ask for questions or fills.}

Before we switch to the simplex portion of the net, a note about the simplex frequency. If our regular frequency of 146.505 is occupied, we will QSY up to the alternate frequency of 146.535. This is the final call for any stations, please come now.

{Pause to allow any stations to check-in}

As there is no further activity for repeater portion of tonight’s net, the repeater portion of the Alameda radio net is closed at {TIME} hours. Including net control, we had {NUMBER INCLUDING NET CONTROL} check-ins to the repeater portion. Thank you to all stations that participated. Please check into this net next Thursday at 19:00 hours on this frequency. Thanks again to Oakland Radio Communication Association for the use of their repeater.
