Criteria For Radio Room Check-out
Purpose of Check-out:
Our use of the radio room in Building 522 is at the pleasure of both the FCC and the City of Alameda. This Radio Room Check-out procedure is intended to ensure that all members that operate the Club station are knowledgeable, qualified and aware of building clean-up and security requirements.
1. All Club members intending to act as a control operator shall undergo check-out by a member experienced with the equipment being checked-out.
2. The Club officers shall designate those members qualified to conduct check-out procedures. Members interested in conducting checkouts should have experience with the equipment being demonstrated.
3. Licensed Club members are authorized to operate only the equipment for which a check-out has been completed.
4. All successful check-out procedures shall be recorded in the station log and signed by the demonstrating club member and the checked-out member.
5. Combination lock codes shall be issued only after successful completion of the complete check-out procedure.
6. The check-out procedure shall include a demonstration that the member being checked-out understands the following:
a. Building entrance and exit procedures.
b. Frequency range, modes and power levels of the equipment being checked-out.
c. The frequency limitations of the member’s license.
d. Safety procedures to protect personnel and equipment from injury or damage.
e. Procedures for logging radio room entry and on-air operations.
f. Basic operation of station equipment.
g. What to do if challenged while in Building 522
